Frey Exits Cablevision, McCastle To Head Sales Ops

Barry-FreyBarry Frey, who spearheaded Cablevision’s push into interactive advertising, has left the company. Former AT&T executive Greg McCastle is settling in atop the sales operations. Frey, the executive vice president of advanced platform sales, was instrumental in launching a request-for-information service, as well as video-on-demand, stand-alone channels and addressable advertising platforms.

McCastle replaced David Kline as president of Cablevision Media Sales in March. McCastle’s senior vice president role at AT&T included working with the senior management of the company’s ad solutions organization.

In March, Cablevision, the New York area cable operator, said its advanced advertising business had served nearly 4 billion impressions for clients such as Ford, Unilever and the U.S. Navy.

Before joining Cablevision, Frey held senior positions at USA Networks, Crown Media and the NBA.
