The America Channel has agreed to terms with Block Communications' Buckeye Cablevision for expanded basic analog carriage of the new network on systems in Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio, reaching 150,000 subscribers. The America Channel, the nonfiction cable network focused on real people and real stories, will premiere on Ohio systems in 2004. "Expanded basic analog carriage is reserved for essential channels. This deal is validation in the marketplace of the connectivity and resonance that The America Channel has with the sensibilities of the American public," said Doron Gorshein, chairman and CEO of The America Channel. "This is the first of several carriage deals we'll be announcing in the near future, and we look forward to working with Buckeye Cablevision and other MSOs to deliver programming that reflects the rich tapestry of America."
