Grey Worldwide North America has promoted Steve Blamer to the new post of president and chief executive officer. Blamer, president and CEO of Grey Worldwide New York since April 2000, will have responsibility for Grey offices in New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver.

"During one of the worst recession periods in the agency business, our revenues, profits and, most significantly, quality of creative work are all up significantly at Grey Worldwide New York and at Grey in Atlanta," said Edward Meyer, chairman and chief executive officer of Grey Global Group, in a press release. "This success, coupled with Steve's energy and leadership skills, are among the reasons I'm promoting Steve Blamer to this new position."

Blamer joined Grey in 1989, and has served as the firm's managing director in Los Angeles and head of Grey London.
