Blinkx Creates app for Sony Devices; Signs Content Deal with AnyClip

Video search engine blinkx has announced that a new blinkx app is now available for Sony’s line of Bravia smart TVs, Blu-Ray and streaming media players, and home theater systems.
The app gives Sony customers access to blinkx's index of premium content through 18 video channels, including sports, breaking news, and the most popular videos across the Web.
Last week, blinkx signed a content deal with AnyClip that allows users to search for and watch scenes from titles owned by Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Vivendi Entertainment, First Look and Virgil Films. AnyClip tags, extracts and indexes more than 5,000 individual pieces of metadata from full-length feature films, allowing users to search for dialogue, actors, props, and more.
To date, blinkx has signed more than 720 partners and indexed over 35 million hours of video and audio content.
