figure, a lifestyle magazine aimed at plus-size women, will increase its print run to 450,000 after demand for its just-released first issue exceeded expectations. The new title, jointly
produced by Brinsights and Soho Publishing, has sold 300,000 copies and 13,000 subscriptions in its first three weeks. "Over the next few weeks we expect to sell all 400,000 copies initially printed,"
said co-publisher and editorial director Geri Brin in a press release. "The enthusiastic readership response has shown the pressing need for a magazine such as this." Brin attributes the response to
figure's editorial content, which celebrates realistic images of women and covers topics that interest all women, regardless of dress size. A company survey found that 72 percent of the mag's readers
prefer images of women who are similar in size to themselves and that 94 percent would buy figure again.
