Facebook App Stars Brands In Timeline Movies

Definition 6, a marketing agency specializing in viral video campaigns, released the Timeline Movie Maker for Facebook Pages, a brand-oriented version of the Timeline Movie Maker app that it launched for individual users early this year.

With Timeline now the standard Facebook user interface, Definition 6 has revamped its Timeline Movie Maker to allow brands to create one-minute movies to share their stories.

“Timeline Movie Maker had such a positive impact on the Facebook community, we wanted to extend that experience to brands,” stated Chris Thornton, CMO of Definition 6. By reaching out to brands, Thornton said the product allows brands to connect with their community "in a much more meaningful way.”

Timeline Movie Maker's goal is to pull together a creative one-minute video. Rachel Conforti, director of marketing communications at Definition 6, says it "evaluates your most highly engaged content on your Timeline.” The app is capable of zeroing in on the “key moments and milestones” of a brand.

Brands that are concerned that Timeline Movie Maker for Facebook Pages will miss key events can rest easy. While not an entirely automated system, Conforti said that page admins have the ability to customize the movie in order to make it the best experience possible for consumers.

The original Timeline Movie Maker has received some updates as well. Users can now share their videos in nine new languages, including Italian, Japanese and Russian, while working with a simplified editing process.
