Comcast Launches High-Def TV in Connecticut

Comcast Cable launched its high-definition television service available to its 500,000 customers in Connecticut. HDTV broadcasts will including Connecticut Public Television, NBC affiliate WVIT in West Hartford, ESPN, HBO and Showtime. HDTV is a new standard of television featuring a highly detailed picture quality with images up to six times sharper than analog TV and a wide-screen picture identical to that of most cinema. The service is available to Comcast Digital Cable customers in Connecticut who have an HDTV-ready television set and an HDTV digital cable converter.
