A French court has agreed that Google is under no obligation to police YouTube content as long as it informs users that they cannot post television shows, music videos, concerts or advertisements without prior consent of the owner. TF1, France's largest television network, sued YouTube and Dailymotion for intellectual property abuse. Miranda Miller compares past rulings to recent ones, and tells us what the French court deemed necessary in terms of takedown requirements.
