Live From New York, It's JetBlue's Online Game Show!
Do you like to travel, are knowledgeable on the subject and have a Skype account and a webcam? If you answered yes, then you’re an ideal contestant for "Get Away With It," a live, online game show for JetBlue.
Contestants are currently being recruited to participate via a print, online, social media, TV and in-flight campaign, created by Mullen.
Local TV ads and talking digital billboards are running in New York and Boston, two major markets for JetBlue. In addition, there are ads on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, People.com, Boston.com, Buzzfeed, Comcast, Adotube, Viggle and AppSavvy. Mullen's mediahub handled the media planning and buying.
The game show will take place inside a Manhattan studio, with game show “host” Mark Hammerberg and his “assistant” Hailey Sweet at the helm. Contestants will be streamed into the studio via Skype.
Potential contestants can sign up online at the game show site: jetblue.com/getawaywithit.
Starting June 18 and ending June 22, five shows will run each day. A typical show will last for 15 minutes.
Winners and players receive JetBlue Getaways vacation packages to destinations like Riviera Maya, Turks & Caicos, Cancun, Bermuda and Las Vegas “The idea is a twist on the old game show format where vacation packages were often the grand prize for the winners,” said David Swaebe, senior vice president, agency communications at Mullen. “We flipped the equation and made the vacation package brand – JetBlue Getaways – the company that brings you the game show.”
According to Swaebe, the game show aims to “build awareness for the JetBlue Getaways vacation package brand,
which is relatively new to the market.”
Players that register are first screened by producers for eligibility. The main requirement for all gamers is a Skype account and webcam. One hundred people will be waiting in a virtual “green room” to play when called upon.
Players, brush up on your knowledge of JetBlue travel destinations. Questions will range from general travel subjects to trivia centered on a destination where JetBlue Getaways brings vacationers.
