Microsoft Markets Lumia 900 With Big Giveaway
From Bing to its famous software offerings, Microsoft has never cut corners when it comes to marketing prized products. How is it getting the word out about the Nokia Lumia 900 -- which runs latest version of Windows’ mobile operating system? Along with a massive multichannel ad campaign, the company is working with Nokia and Seton Hall University to get a Lumia 900 into the hands of every member of the incoming Class of 2016 -- for free.
As part of its Mobile Computing initiative, the New Jersey school has given out mobile devices in the past, “although in much smaller quantities,” according to PCWorld. “In the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years, students in various programs were issued Nokia smartphones and Amazon Kindles, and in 2010-11, Apple and Android tablets were handed out to those in select majors.”
The Lumia 900 giveaway, however, is apparently the first time an entire class will be issued a single device. Terms of the deal between Microsoft, Nokia and Seton Hall’s are not be disclosed, but it appears to PCWorld to be born out of Seton Hall’s partnership with the two companies.
