"New Orleans business and community leaders" are rallying to protest Advance Publications' decision to cease daily publication of the city's prize-winning Times-Picayune, writes Cameron McWhirter. The group is also exploring other options, from seeking a buyer to starting an online paper.

The plans to publish three days a week, "disclosed publicly on May 24, would make New Orleans the largest city in the country without a daily print newspaper," writes McWhirter.
