Elf on the Shelf To Join Macy's Parade

Looks like the Elf on the Shelf has finally made it to the big time, with Macy’s announcing it will add the elf to its
86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving DayParade. The story of the elf, first published in 2005, is a legendary success story of self-publishing, with an animated version first airing last year. “Elf on the Shelf has quickly become a joyous tradition with kids and parents,” says Macy’s in its release. “With this new helium giant, we are thrilled to add a little more Elf magic to the Parade.”
