Global sales of premium beers will realize a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.8% between 2012 and 2016, with volume rising from 34.02 million kiloliters in 2011 to 39.29 million kiloliters by 2016, projects a new report from Just-Drinks.com.
North America’s CAGR will be 2% during the same period—better than Europe’s 1%, but considerably less robust than Asia and Latin America.
But some growth will be seen on every continent. All of the major brewers are “convinced of the merits” of pursuing a premium strategy, the report notes.
