Video Startup Chill Receives $8 Million In Funding
Reuters, Thursday, June 28, 2012 1:46 PM
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, talent firm William Morris Endeavor and others on Wednesday pumped $8 million into social video startup Chill, an online video service that allows people to watch and comment on videos in groups on Facebook.
According to a Chill spokesman, the cash will help the startup grow faster and the relationship with William Morris should help it land more content partners. Its current partners include AOL’s celebrity-news service TMZ and TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live. Chill has 18 million registered users, around 10 million of which are regular users, the company says.
