San Diego AMY Award Winners

The San Diego chapter of The American Marketing Association hosted the 2012 American Marketer of The Year Awards last week. The annual event recognizes the area’s premiere and hardest working professionals and student marketers. The event started with a keynote address from Global Marketing Solutions Executive for Facebook, Erik Hawkins.

According to the AMA’s website, the winning companies are recognized for more than just their strategy; the imaginative force behind their campaigns are taken into account as well.

“It takes superhuman creativity, marketing savvy and around-the-clock dedication to build a brand and sell products to increasingly knowledgeable, discerning customers,” the company’s website reads. “We think that kind of work ethic should be celebrated and deserves an awesome trophy.”

Aviatech, a San Diego-based interactive advertising and marketing agency, took away awards for both Social/Viral Marketing and Advertising. However, the big winner of the night was Elevator, a California-based advertising agency that took home awards for New Product/Service Launch and Marketer of the Year.

“Thank you so much for the recognition!” The company said on their official Facebook page. “We are humbled and look forward to bonding with the San Diego marketing Community!”
