Kaplan Punts To The Hub As CMO
Cable kids network The Hub has a new chief marketing officer: Ex-NFL Network marketing executive Dena Kaplan.
Kaplan was senior vice president, of marketing for the NFL
Network, joining the network in 2007, and overseeing all marketing efforts for the sports TV network, as well as the NFL's subscription service, NFL RedZone.
Previously, she was at the Game
Show Network as senior vice president of marketing, helping to re-brand the network into GSN. Before that, she was at Cablevision Systems Corp., as managing director of sales for the cable
operator's Rainbow Advertising Sales unit.
Margaret Loesch, president and chief executive officer of The Hub, a joint venture of Discovery Communications and toymaker Hasbro --
stated: “ Of particular value to us as an emerging network will be her skills in developing marketing initiatives to support Discovery’s affiliate marketing team and their drive to
continue to build distribution."
Recent Nielsen ratings results for the network climbed 42% to 98,000 viewers in total day viewership from 69,000. Among kids 6-11, viewers climbed 24% to
21,000 from 17,000.
