Layoffs, Exits At Time Inc. Sports Mags Expected

The Time Inc. Sports Group, which includes Sports Illustrated, Golf and SI Kids, is expected to announce that 16 editorial staffers will be leaving, three layoffs and 13 voluntary departures, reports Adweek. Apparently, the unit asked staff to volunteer to avoid laying off 8% of the 210-person staff. The cuts were said to be part of a plan to revamp edit staff by sport rather than media platform.
