The Center for Investigative Reporting is helping YouTube launch an investigative news channel, reports TechCrunch. The new “I Files” channel uses videos from various sources, such as the BBC to The New York Times, to bolster investigative journalism, which has been hard hit by the downturn in newspapers and local enterprise reporting. It will also add to YouTube's professional content. The site received an $800,000 grant from the Knight Foundation to seed "I Files."
