Pilot Project Nets Possible Story Line

  • September 29, 2003
A nationwide tour that solicited ideas for a new TV show has netted the winner, an hour-long pilot that blends a Seattle man's day job at a fish market with his passion for music. The Pilot Project has selected Tom Sackville-West's concept for "Seattle City Fish" for development as a pilot and handed him a cash price. "We received millions of hits to the website and nearly 1,000 pitches from all over the country and many of them were excellent," said Effects Productions president Ruben Navarrete. "Sackville- West's submission stood out from the many thousands of pitches we received and we are honored to name him the winner." The pitch for "Seattle City Fish" is about a young musician, loosely based on Sackville-West, who sells fish at the Pikes Place Market while he's waiting for a big break in the music industry. The main character's music is used to tell the story. Sackville- West works at the fish market.
