Citing new research it conducted along with Harris Interactive, Target says 23% of Americans are chicken when it comes to getting shots, and skip flu vaccines rather than face a needle.

So this season, its pharmacies will promote a new intradermal flu shot option, which uses a micro-needle that is 90% smaller than traditional flu shot needles. It will continue to offer traditional shots, as well as high-dose vaccines for those 65 years and older.

The shots, priced at $28, are scheduled to begin this week, and cover three virus strains: H1N1, N3N2 and influenza B.
