Few companies optimize images for search results well. Intrapromote did it for Honda after other sites began outranking images for its own content. The biggest problem for car companies wanting to rank higher in image search remains low-quality sites copying the snapshots and using them on their own sites. It causes other sites to rank higher than OEMs, and earn ad revenue on top of it. To correct the trend, data was added to XML site maps, adding and simplifying image attributes. The companies increased visits from organic image search by more than 590 percent, compared with the prior year.
