Almost 8.1 million unique visitors went to USA Today's Web site in August, reflecting a 45 percent increase from 2003. The McLean, Va.-based publisher attributed the upsurge to this year's Summer Olympics, the political conventions, and the late-summer hurricanes hitting Florida.
