L'Huffington Post is now launching in Italy, offering news, blogging, community, and social engagement. It will cover the economic and political situation, as well as Italy's cuisine, operas and arts and history. L'HuffPo could not have found a better partner in Gruppo Espresso, which publishes national daily la Repubblica and the weekly L'Espresso, in addition to a network radio and TV stations. The edition's editor in chief is Gianni Del Vecchio, formerly the editor of L'Espresso.
