Unilever Offers Digital Savings Across Brands
Unilever is becoming the first company to offer fully digital savings to shoppers across all of its U.S. product lines, over multiple retailers and
shopping trips.
The giant consumer products company has partnered with national digital retail savings service SavingStar on a “One or Many” promotion offering shoppers $5 back after they spend $20 in total on any Unilever products through Thanksgiving Day.
The program ties in with shoppers’ retail loyalty cards for the 100+ retailers in the SavingStar network, and spans more than 10,000 varieties, sizes and flavors across Unilever’s food and personal care/beauty brands.
The brands include: Axe, Ben & Jerry's, Bertolli, Breyers, Caress, Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy, Consort For Men, Country Crock, Degree, Dove personal care products, fds, Good Humor, Hellmann's, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!, Just For Me!, Klondike, Knorr, Lever 2000, Lipton, Magnum, Motions, Nexxus, Noxzema, P.F. Chang's Home Menu, Pond's, Popsicle, Promise, Q-tips, Ragú, Simple, Skippy, Slim-Fast, Soft & Beautiful, St. Ives, Suave, TCB, TIGI, TRESemmé, Vaseline, and Wish-Bone.
SavingStar network retailers include Kroger, Albertsons, Food Lion, Stop & Shop and many other grocery chains, as well as major drug store retailers like CVS and Rite Aid.
Shoppers can access the deal either through Unilever’s “Making Life Better” Facebook page or at SavingStar.com.
After joining SavingStar for free, shoppers register their supermarket and drugstore loyalty cards from participating retailers in their areas. SavingStar links the savings offer to all of their registered cards, enabling consumers to choose where to shop.
At the store, shoppers use their loyalty cards when they buy any Unilever products. Within a few days, SavingStar will receive the purchase data from the store and send an email to users to let them know their purchase has been logged.
Shoppers can track their progress toward the $20 spending requirement on SavingStar’s site. When the goal is reached, SavingStar enables shoppers to cash out their $5 savings with a direct deposit to any bank or PayPal account, as an Amazon gift card, or as a donation to the charity American Forests, to help plant trees.
The savings program with SavingStar is designed to reward shoppers for their loyalty to the Unilever family of brands, said Christine Cea, senior director, marketing communications for Unilever.
