Content optimization platform developer Ramp has closed on a “series C” round of financing, raising $15 million in new funding. The round, which was led by New York-based StarVest Partners, adds StarVest Co-Founder and General Partner Deborah Farrington to the Ramp board.

Other new investors included in the round were Hearst Interactive Media and EDBI, who joined existing Ramp investors: Fairhaven Capital, Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners, and Comcast Ventures.

The new round brings the total capital raised to $40 million for the Boston-based company.

Use of the funding was not disclosed, but Ramp has developed a platform enabling content publishers to optimize video, audio, text and images by making them more easily discoverable across search and social sites. Publishers currently utilizing Ramp include Thomson Reuters, Fox News, ABC News, NBC, Dow Jones, and Meredith.
