Nike Links New Shoe To Obama's Ride

  • October 19, 2012

It’s about time. The holiday edition of the Nike Air Force 1, one of its best-selling shoes and first introduced way back in 1982, is set to make its first link to the actual Air Force One, which is how the president gets around. “Inspired by the namesake plane in this latest edition, the Air Force 1 Pearl Collection returns with color tones, construction and micro details representing the presidential aircraft,” the company says, right down to “dimples mimicking the rivets on the plane….the shoe’s surface lies flat, characteristic of the smooth aerodynamic finish of the plane door and windows lying flush with the fuselage on an aircraft.” The light-blue shoes are set to go on sale later this month, and be sold in limited quantities.

Hopefully by the time these hit the shelves, it's no longer Obama's ride.
