Celtra said Monday it’s among the first mobile rich media companies to be named a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD), the program aimed at connecting advertisers and marketers with experts to build out their presence on the social network. The company has developed HTML5-based rich media units tailored for Facebook’s mobile audience and smartphones and tablet features such as touch, gyro-features and location awareness. Brands including Angry Birds, AT&T, Dunkin’ Donuts, Macy’s, and Mars Chocolate North America have used Celtra’s rich media ads in Facebook’s mobile properties. Facebook most recently expanded its mobile ad opportunities with the launch of app install ads, recommending games and apps rather than brand pages. In its third-quarter earnings announcement last month, Facebook said mobile ad revenue jumped to $150 million, or 14% of total revenue in the quarter.
