Forgers Beware

Microsoft will enforce Sender ID checks beginning Oct.1, in an effort to stop e-mail forgery. Hotmail, MSN, and Microsoft.com will adopt the Open Source SPF anti-forgery system and are working with IETF MARID to help define the Sender ID standard. Other domain owners, including big-shots, AOL, Earthlink, and Gmail have already begun publishing SPF records.
