Sirius XM Radio To Launch Year-End 'Pop-Up' Sports Channel

It was an interesting year in sports -- ranging from the cosmically weird opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in London to the comically bad calls of the NFL’s replacement referees. Now fans can relive it all, thanks to a special, limited-time channel on Sirius XM.
The new “pop-up” channel, called “The Year in SiriusXM Sports,” will be available to subscribers for a week, from Wednesday, Dec. 26 to Thursday, Jan. 3, via satellite channels, as well as SiriusXM.com and the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and other mobile devices.
The list of highlights to be reviewed (and relived) include the New York Giants' Super Bowl XLVI victory, the San Francisco Giants' World Series title, the Los Angeles Kings' first Stanley Cup championship, National Championship titles for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team and the Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball team, and the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team's Olympic gold medal victory.
Content will include interviews and opinions from over the course of the year, including a Sirius XM “Town Hall” with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell; an interview with MLB Commissioner Bud Selig by Cal Ripken Jr. and Bill Ripken; and interviews with Eli Manning, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Hope Solo, among others.
The channel will also feature commentary from Sirius XM hosts including Mike Krzyzewski and John Madden.
