CS News: 7-Eleven Offers Healthy Options

7-Eleven Inc. is adding more fresh and healthy food to its convenience store offerings, according to CS News.

Over the last year, the retailer has introduced a line of fresh foods and downsized some of its fare by creating portion-size items. The c-store retailer's goal by is to have 20% of sales coming from fresh foods in its American and Canadian stores, up from about 10%

"We're aspiring to be more of a food and beverage company, and that aligns with what the consumer now wants, which is more tasty, healthy, fresh food choices," said 7-Eleven's President and CEO Joseph M. DePinto.
