Can Google Protect Consumer Privacy?
Bloomberg, Monday, January 28, 2013 12:34 PM
Google is organizing an effort to set limits on government access to digital communications. “The company has been talking to advocacy groups and companies about joining a lobbying effort to
change the 1986 Electronic Communications Privacy Act,” reports Bloomberg, citing comments from a Google spokesman. Well suited to partake in the privacy debate, Google says it receives some
1,400 requests a month from U.S. authorities for users’ e-mails and documents.
