Google Pays French Publishers $82 Million
Google has come to an agreement with French publishers who wanted the search giant to start paying them for linking to their content, reports Paid Content. In a company post, Google CEO Eric Schmidt announced that Google would create €60 million [USD $82 million] Digital Publishing Innovation Fund to help support transformative digital publishing initiatives for French readers. And it would help the country's publishers increase online revenues. What it won't do is pay for links.
