R/GA Goes West Again, Opens LA Office
Renowned Interpublic Group digital shop R/GA has opened a new office in Los Angeles, its second office in California and fifth location in the U.S.
The agency
said Steve Weinswig, vice president and managing director of R/GA’s San Francisco office, will also serve as interim managing director of R/GA Los Angeles until a permanent MD is appointed.
Senior leaders in Los Angeles will include R/GA veterans Tara Greer, executive creative director, experience design; Mark Laughlin, ECD, visual design, and Luke Stiles, senior technology
director.
“Los Angeles has long been a part of R/GA over the years, with its deep pool of talent and a wide range of industries and clients in Southern California,” stated Bob
Greenberg, the agency’s chairman and CEO.
The new office, located in the Santa Monica section of Los Angeles, is expected to expand to 30 staffers in its first year, according to the
agency. Among the offerings that will be emphasized are service design, content creation and technology-application development.
Greer, a 14-year digital design veteran, has worked as a
lead creative in R/GA New York on numerous projects for the Nike+, Nike Team, and Nike Store accounts, as well as Converse, L’Oréal, Verizon, and Corbis. She most recently served as a
creative director and experience design lead on the Nike+ FuelBand project.
Ten-year veteran Laughlin most recently worked as an executive creative director on Nike at R/GA New York, where
he was responsible for leading multidisciplinary campaigns and platform teams. Earlier, he held posts at Razorfish and Syrup.
Stiles also previously worked at R/GA New York on a number of
Nike and MasterCard projects. Earlier he was with MTV Networks where he worked on initiatives, including MTV’s digital music service Rhapsody America.
