American Magazine Conference Underway

Nearly 550 publishers, editors, and other senior executives from the magazine industry have gathered in Boca Raton, Fla. to attend the 2004 American Magazine Conference: "Mastering New Realities," hosted by Magazine Publishers of America and the American Society of Magazine Editors.

AMC 2004 is chaired by Eileen Naughton, president of Time, and takes place October 24 through 27 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Monday, Ed Kelly, president and CEO for American Express Publishing Corporation, and Jack Kliger, president and CEO at Hachette Filipacchi provided further details about the three-year marketing campaign undertaken by the Magazine Marketing Coalition. The $40 million campaign, executed by Fallon New York, has been designed to communicate the strengths and effectiveness of magazines to the ad community.
