Raven To Chairman, A&E Networks, Dubuc Named CEO

Major growth at A+E Networks have meant big promotions for its top two executives.

Nancy Dubuc, now becomes president and chief executive officer of A+E Networks, assuming day-to-day leadership for the entire network group, taking over the job from Abbe Raven.

Abbe Raven now becomes chairman of the A+E Networks. looking after A+E Networks’ long-term business and revenue opportunities, as well as public-policy initiatives. The company says she will also serve as a corporate strategic adviser.

Dubuc had been president, entertainment and media, A+E Networks, overseeing ratings growth at the A&E Network and History in particular in recent years.

Raven had been president/CEO of A+E Networks since March 2005, and witnessed a tripling of the company's earnings, which included the merger of Lifetime Television with A+E Networks in 2009, as well as recent sharply higher ratings gains made by A&E Network and History.

Dubuc has overseen all content creation, brand development and marketing for A+E Networks. including A&E Network, Lifetime, History and affiliated brands and platforms. She also oversaw A+E Networks’ international and digital divisions.

Dubuc stated: "Abbe has been a great mentor and partner for over 10 years. She created a corporate culture at A+E Networks where creativity thrives and as a result, we cultivated some of the most powerful global brands in media."

A+E Networks, LLC is a joint venture of Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst Corporation. The announcement was made by the A+E Networks’ Board of Directors, which is headed by Anne Sweeney, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group, and Steven Swartz, president and COO of Hearst Corporation.

Raven will report directly to the company’s Board and Dubuc will report both to Raven and the Board.
