Deborah Turness, former editor of ITV News in Britain, is the new president of NBC's news division, reports AP. She replaces Steve Capus, who resigned earlier this year and will begin her new job
in August. She is the first woman to hold the role. While NBC's "Nightly News" is first in the evening news ratings, "Today" has lost its berth to "GMA." Turness will likely be responsible for
choosing Matt Lauer's successor on "Today" should the long-running anchor decide to leave.
