Former NBC senior advertising sales executive Marianne Gambelli has landed at Horizon Media as its executive vice president/chief investment
She will replace Aaron Cohen, executive vice president and chief media negotiation officer, who will take on a senior advisory role in the media agency. Gambelli will report to Bill Koenigsberg, president/chief executive officer/founder of Horizon Media.
Gambelli comes from a long stint at NBC Universal -- 22 years -- most recently as president of advertising sales for NBC network, in charge of prime time, news and sports advertising.
She departed NBC Universal in October 2012, a month after Linda Yaccarino became president of advertising sales at NBCUniversal and assumed leadership for all broadcast and cable ad sales activities. Yaccarino became head of all NBCUniversal cable sales a year before.
In her new position at Horizon Media, Gambelli will head all activation strategies for clients' media investments, as well as seeking media platforms for clients in new and emerging technologies. In addition, she will look for new media research initiatives and become a member of Horizon Media’s executive board.
Before NBC, Gambelli worked at ad agencies including Backer Spielvogel Bates and Grey Advertising from 1980 to 1990, in number of media executive posts.
