Mindshare Raids Digitas' Bitterman, Names Him Strategy Chief

In a significant talent raid, and potential brain drain for Publicis’ Digitas, WPP’s Mindshare has recruited one of its key execs -- Jordan Bitterman -- as chief strategy officer for North America.

Bitterman, who has been senior vice president-North America lead for social, mobile and content at Digitas, was a key player in the agency’s content marketing strategy, and was one of the architects for its NewFront initiatives.

Prior to that role he headed the agency’s New York media operations and served as a client lead on the agency’s global account with American Express.

“Jordan is a rare and exceptional talent,” stated Mindshare Global CEO Nick Emery. “As chief strategy officer, he will harness distribution, content and technology to put real-time adaptive solutions at our heart. This shows the scale of our ambition to be our clients’ lead marketing partner.”

@ Nick Emery: To paraphrase a famous old slogan, "a mind is a terrible thing to share," to wit, the mangling of the English language in your agency's recent classified ad for a new SVP Media:

"We’re searching for an SVP, Media who is a strategic thought leader for us & our clients. We’re looking for someone who is curious & always consuming, innovating & bringing in the latest for solutions for real time integrated marketing/media across a wide range of clients. You’ll be an expert in the media industry, possessing a strong set of media skills and experiences across all channels; deep in digital, ideally performance marketing. You’ll need to be strong in ecommerce and retail. The craft of forging strong client relationships and business savvy must be part of your DNA. You’ll also take ownership and direct responsibility for management within the media group on key accounts &overall for the team. "Real time adaptive solutions?" With all due respect, perhaps a remedial course in English composition is more in order.
