Social Media Anger Fastest Spreading Emotion

Scientists from Beihang University in China studied 200,000 users on Weibo, a social media service similar to Twitter. They looked at over 70 million updates and found that not only did anger spread faster, it spread wider across the network, reportssocialnewsdaily.com. The emotions expressed on social media were split up into four groups: sadness, anger, joy and disgust. Updates that were expressing disgust or sadness were the least likely to spread and joy was more likely to be spread among friends and close connections.
