Mobile Drives Engagement, But Sales Still Happen On PC
On the final OMMA Mobile panel of the day looking at the upcoming holiday shopping season, Jeffrey Malmad , Managing Director, Mobile, Mindshare, pointed out that clients last year saw a high level of engagement on mobile phones and tablets. But when it came to making purchases, people still went to a company’s Web site to close the deal. Earlier in the day, comScore’s Josh Chasin presented data showing that despite the rapid growth of m-commerce, the desktop PC represents 90% of digital commerce. Malmad said for this holiday season, Mindshare will focus even more on mobile for engaging consumers, but plan for the conversion to happen on the desktop.
