Nissan Goes Vevo For Summer Hits

Nissan is launching a music video program on Vevo around summer hits. The effort, overseen by AOR TBWA\Chiat\Day has three major artists doing other artists' summer hits in videos under "The Nissan Tracks" umbrella. The first, starting on Wednesday is by Skylar Grey, who covers Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." The a rock band, Mona, covers Rihanna’s “Stay,” which happens later this fall, per the automaker. Skylar Grey’s “Get Lucky” video will break across Vevo’s Web, mobile, tablet and connected TV platform at noon.

Nissan said it chose Vevo because of its audience -- its over 54 million unique visitors each month, making it top music platform on the Web. Vevo says over 50% of its U.S. views are on mobile devices, including tablets and connected TV. The channel notes that for the past four years it has developed its lifestyle original programming with over 2,000 episodes of originals (Lyric Lines, The Comment Show, Stylized and Tour Exposed, for example) with north of 850 million views.
