Media Group, a pure-play U.S. media company targeting the Hispanic TV/cable networks business, named Nicolas J. Valls executive vice president, ad sales. Previously, Valls had been senior vice
president, network sales at Univision Network.
Valls stated that it was an "exciting time to be in the Hispanic cable business."
He is charged with supervising national spot
sales for WAPA Television and ad sales for WAPA America -- Hemisphere's ad-supported networks.
Alan J. Sokol, CEO of Hemisphere, citing Valls' 26-year track record, said he is the "perfect
fit" to lead the company's ad strategy.
At Univision, Valls serviced in various sales and marketing roles, eventually managing more than $275 million in annual network sales revenue from
Fortune 500 advertisers. Prior to being named SVP of network sales at Univision, Valls created a custom-marketing innovation team that tailored marketing programs for top 100 advertisers.
In addition, he helped develop branded entertainment formats for shows such as "Mira Quien" and "Premios Juventud."
