Ex-Univision Exec Heads Hemisphere Media Ad Sales

He is charged with supervising national spot sales for WAPA Television and ad sales for WAPA America -- Hemisphere's ad-supported networks.
Alan J. Sokol, CEO of Hemisphere, citing Valls' 26-year track record, said he is the "perfect fit" to lead the company's ad strategy.
At Univision, Valls serviced in various sales and marketing roles, eventually managing more than $275 million in annual network sales revenue from Fortune 500 advertisers. Prior to being named SVP of network sales at Univision, Valls created a custom-marketing innovation team that tailored marketing programs for top 100 advertisers.
In addition, he helped develop branded entertainment formats for shows such as "Mira Quien" and "Premios Juventud."
Hemisphere owns and operates Cinelatino, WAPA Television and WAPA America. Cinelatino is a leading Spanish-language movie channel, with more than 12 million subscribers in the U.S., Latin America and Canada. It features Spanish-language blockbusters and acclaimed titles from Mexico, Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean.
