iTunes Hits 200 Million Mark

  • December 17, 2004
Apple Computer Inc. on Thursday said it sold more than 200 million songs at 99 cents each from the online music store iTunes. This figure was essentially in line with what some analysts predicted. Since the store's launch in April 2003, the pace at which songs have been selling has accelerated, said an Apple spokesman. It took almost a year to sell 50 million songs, four months to sell 100 million, three months to hit 150 million, and two months to reach 200 million, according to Apple's figures.
