aQuantive divisions Avenue A/NYC and i-FRONTIER announced today that they have been named the online media planning and buying agencies of record for AstraZeneca in the United States. Budget was not disclosed. Avenue A has been working with AstraZeneca for consumer-focused online advertising for select brands, including NEXIUM® esomeprazole magnesium, since 2001. Additionally, i-FRONTIER, the interactive agency aQuantive acquired in late 2002, has been assisting AstraZeneca in its online advertising efforts, targeted to the professional community for NEXIUM and both professional and consumer communities for other AstraZeneca brands. The combination of the two aQuantive agencies will enable AstraZeneca to consolidate all of its interactive media planning and buying activities for most of its current and future brands.
