'Dr. Oz' Hits Newsstands

Hearst Magazines' Dr. Oz The Good Life debuts with a March/April issue, hitting newsstands Feb. 4. The title covers everything from physical and emotional well-being, to food, beauty, finances, diet and exercise, all through the unique point-of-view of Dr. Mehmet Oz, a physician and host of "The Dr. Oz Show."

“There’s an inextricable link between health and every area of our lives,” he  prescribes, adding, “I want this magazine to be the place for women to find information that enlightens them, but also delights them and emotionally connects with them, so they can make the best decisions to live full, happy and joyful lives.”

Each issue opens with “From the Heart,” a letter in which he shares his vision, personal anecdotes and scrapbook-style photos. In addition to his “Ask Dr. Oz Anything” column answering readers’ most pressing health, nutrition and lifestyle queries, he weighs in with advice throughout the magazine on everything from the healthiest way to cook pasta to the best approach to a social hug. Each issue closes with a recurring column, “Dr. Oz’s Prescription,” an inspiring call to action for readers.

Bravo Hearst for your leap of faith in developing a new print product! The content strategy seems sound..."Prevention" meets "Oprah" with a passionate existing fan base and promotional opportunities via multiple platforms. I look forward to picking up the first issue.
