Niche Media Launches Austin WayNiche Media Holdings is launching
Austin Way, a new regional lifestyle magazine for Austin, Texas. The magazine will be
published six times a year beginning in September, with a circulation of 50,000 at launch.
Like other Niche Media titles,
Austin Way will target affluent, socially active
consumers in the fast-growing city. Distribution will include home delivery and placement in the city’s cultural centers, hotels, retail shopping districts and high-profile events, like SXSW,
the Austin Film Festival, and the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix.
Lou DeLone, who has been group publisher of Niche Media since July 2013, will serve as publisher of
Austin Way;
DeLone previously served as the launch publisher for
Houstonia Magazine, as well as Group Publisher for
Houston Magazine, Modern Luxury Dallas and
The Atlantan. He serves on
several charitable boards within Houston and Austin and is a resident of Austin.
Niche Media says it has enjoyed four straight years of revenue and page growth in excess of 20%.
Austin is growing fast, too. Over the last 10 years, the population of the city proper jumped 25% from around 675,000 in 2003 to 845,000 in 2013, while the metro area grew 29% from around 1.4 million
to 1.8 million over the same period. Meanwhile, the median household income increased 13.5% to $59,433 in 2013.
Sheldon To Home Furnishings Director, Traditional
Home Lori Sheldon has been named home furnishings director for
Traditional Home. In this role, Sheldon will be responsible for developing
cross-platform media and marketing programs for national luxury design and decorating accounts. She previously served as national home furnishings director for
Luxe Interiors + Design, an
upscale quarterly shelter magazines. She also served as an advertising executive at
Metropolis.
Miller Named EVP, Marketing Guggenheim
Media Dana Miller has been named executive vice-president for marketing and brand development at Guggenheim Media, overseeing all marketing, events, conferences, partnerships
and brand initiatives for The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. Miller is a former executive producer of ABC’s Billboard Music Awards, and most recently served as senior vice-president for
branded entertainment and integrated marketing at Prometheus Global Media.
Muszala Tapped As Sales Manager, Forbes Insights Matthew Muszala has been
named sales manager for Forbes Insight, the strategic research unit of Forbes Media, which executes custom research for big corporate clients. Muszala previously served as sales representative at
The Economist Group. In his new role he will help develop sales opportunities targeting the financial and energy sectors, and will also be responsible for managing accounts in the eastern
U.S. region
