Boston Global Forum Announces New Media Industry Awards

There's a new media awards competition in town, but this one has unique 21st Century twist.

The Boston Global Forum, a non-profit focused on bringing together "thought" leaders from around the world to discuss how to tackle society's most pressing problems, is seeking nominations for its first annual Global Media Awards. The awards are intended to honor achievements in the media industry "that have made a significant contribution to society."

Awards will be given out in three categories: Best Connectivity Platform, Best Content Production and Best Cyber Security Product.

To be eligible, the achievement must have been made during calendar year 2013. Nominations can be made through the forum's website at www.bostonglobalforum.org.

Winners will be decided by a panel consisting of Boston Global Forum leaders. This year's panelists include former Gov. Mike Dukakis; former Latvia President Vaira Vike-Freiberga; Harvard Professors Joseph Nye, Thomas Patterson and John Quelch; and Thomas Fiedler, dean of Boston University's College of Communication.

The winners will be honored at a formal ceremony on Oct. 3, 2014.
