New Orleans Tourism Partners With Disney/ABC

The New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp. is partnering with Disney/ABC for a social media promotion to highlight the city’s family-friendly features.

When families follow Princess Tiana in Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” at followhermagic.com, they will be given the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to visit New Orleans and all the real-life places referenced in the movie. Consumers can visit the pages and enter the sweepstakes through Aug. 31.

Custom content from Disney's “The Princess and the Frog” at followyourNOLA.com retraces places in New Orleans from this storyline. Princess Tiana has been added as one of the city's celebrities that visitors can connect with. Her itinerary takes web visitors to a few of the places and neighborhoods shown in the movie.

“The elements of the partnership will help our summer campaign further underscore the wonderful family attractions we offer as well as the unique connection between the movie and New Orleans,” said Mark Romig, president and CEO of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp.

The campaign will be featured through a media sponsorship with Disney/ABC and also includes custom social sweepstakes with a chance to win a 5-day, 4-night family adventure in New Orleans and a “Princess and the Frog” itinerary of places to visit at followyourNOLA.com.

A custom New Orleans video distributed via Disney Interactive compares scenes from the film with those in real-life. The video will feature original content featuring the real-life locations in New Orleans alongside images from the movie. Locations include the French Quarter, Cafe du Monde, St. Louis Cathedral, Steamboat Natchez, the riverfront, the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar, the Bywater, Marigny, and Treme neighborhoods, the Garden District, Lafayette Cemetery number one, Audubon Park, the Audubon Zoo, Bayou St. John and City Park.

Also included is an on-air promotion on select local ABC owned and affiliated TV stations, shown in New Orleans fly-markets.
