Peter Kim Joins Cheil WW As Its First Chief Digital Officer

In a bid to strengthen its digital offering Cheil Worldwide has appointed Peter Kim as Chief Digital Officer in a newly created position at the agency. Based in Seoul where the agency is headquartered, Kim is tasked with building Cheil’s digital business platforms and expanding digital capabilities, both in South Korea and abroad. He will report to Daiki Lim, President and CEO of Cheil Worldwide. 

Kim, a 15-year digital strategy veteran, joins Cheil from Constellation Research where he was Chief Strategy Officer and Principal Analyst. Previously he was Chief Solutions Architect and Chief Strategy Officer at Dachis Group, an advisory firm dedicated to the social media sector.  As a co-creator of the company, Kim helped to build it to over 200 employees.

Kim’s earlier stints include Vice President Managing Director of R/GA, Head of Global Digital Marketing at PUMA and Principal Consultant at Razorfish. He has helped agencies build business relationships with clients such as The Estee Lauder Companies, Citibank and Coca-Cola.

Cheil, founded in 1973, now has 5,000 staffers operating from 44 offices and 7 affiliates in 37 countries. In 2012 it purchased U.S. independent shop McKinney, which is now part of the Cheil Americas Group.
